most young people tend to think that they wont grow old ever.but inevitably every one does grow old no matter what one do to stop it hitting them,at the most they can delay it a bit with help of science and technology but not for long.old is ugly for us,wrinkled faces, loosing hair, loose muscles, unable to be much active like a young person, everything becomes limited for old people.limited people to interact with, limited working options,we feel left out from the mainstream and become lonely.the fear of death crawling closer as we grow old makes life more worse and painful.
no matter how we look at it,we cannot change the cycle of life, everyone will grow old and die one day.so why not stop worrying about it and live life to the fullest while it lasts and embrace death calmly.the last years of life are most important,if those years are happy ones we have lived a complete life.all is well that ends well.we forget all the pain and struggle we went through in our lives if we have a peaceful happy life in the last few years.
old age is more about spiritual fulfillment and completion rather than pursuing position or status, money or material possessions.we could look at ourselves and reality of life and death without any distraction of superficial things.living a truly satisfying life till the end depends on how we look at death.instead of fearing it we can look at it as a sleeping time, just like we go to sleep every night after a long day of efforts.we look forward to rest sleep brings after a hard working day, similarly we can look forward to death as resting period,to re energise ourselves,to get prepared for the next round of new active life.
to a fool old age is a bitter winter,to a wise its a golden time...the saying makes lot of sense.everything depends on our attitude, how we live life, how we see old age and death.we can use and make our old age more fulfilling by trying to achieve our goals which we could pursue earlier for various reasons, involve ourselves in new activities, make new friends, indulge in new hobbies.keeping the heart and mind young matters only, our bodies may be affected by age but we can keep our hearts and minds young by being active with a positive outlook towards life.
enjoy your stay on earth.
